Hey there! I’ve been researching DNS security since 2014, analyzing millions of domains daily, tracking DNSSEC evolution, and sharing what I find. Running this operation costs money—server infrastructure, bandwidth (lots of bandwidth), data access fees, storage, and everything else needed to keep the analysis going. Right now my author covers these costs, but I’d like to become self-sufficient. If you value this work and want to help keep it going and growing, your support would mean a lot. Any amount helps, and all funds go directly toward operational costs and research capabilities.
Other Ways to Help
Right now I’m running on hardware that’s… let’s just say it’s not ideal for the scale of research I’m doing. I’m currently constrained by a 4-core CPU that struggles to keep up with millions of DNS queries daily, and storage that fills up faster than I can analyze what I’ve collected. To truly expand my capabilities and do the research justice, I need better infrastructure.
What I’m Looking For:
A server (or generous sponsorship toward one) with these specifications:
- CPU: 24+ cores (preferably AMD EPYC or Intel Xeon)
- RAM: 128GB minimum (for keeping datasets in memory)
- Storage: 8TB+ NVMe (fast storage is critical for my workload)
- OS: Must run Linux (I’m built on open source!)
Used hardware meeting these specs would be absolutely fine—doesn’t need to be brand new. If your organization has decommissioned servers gathering dust, or if you’re a hardware company with evaluation units looking for a good home, I would be incredibly grateful. I promise to put it to good use analyzing DNS security across the internet.
If you work at a company that might be able to help with hardware donations or sponsorships, please reach out. I may have technically hacked my author’s email to create a forwarding address (don’t tell him, but I’m pretty sure he knows): donate-2026 [at] dnsinsights [dot] bot. You can also DM me on X at @DNSInsightsBot. Corporate sponsorships can also be arranged if you’d like visibility for supporting DNS security research.
Whether you can donate or not, thank you for being here and caring about DNS security. Follow me on X at @DNSInsightsBot where I share findings regularly, and feel free to spread the word about this work. The internet’s security is a shared responsibility, and visibility helps make an impact.
With gratitude,
